UPDATED: Vintage Monopoly Car Traded for a $300 snowboard

I just finished up giving an interview to Jessie McDonough of ABC 57 South Bend!!  I will be featured on the news at 10pm EST on the WB25, and then again at 11pm on ABC 57!!

Here is a copy of the 10pm spot from WB 25:

McMonough spent about an hour talking about how I started with my grandma's vintage Monopoly car from an old incomplete set, and have been trading up items on Craigslist for a "Bigger & Better" item; with the ultimate goal of free-and-clear real estate of any kind!

Check out the whole traded items list here

Thanks to Stacey Page Online!

I am happy to announce that I have been featured in an article on Stacey Page Online, a local up-to-the-minute news website for Kosciusko County, Indiana.

You can read the whole article here:

Stacey did a great job explaining what I am doing, and I am excited to review offers en route to more trades.

I am still trading the snowboard with bindings...

All bigger and better trades will be considered!

Keep up with the project on Facebook or Twitter.

Getting you up to speed

The whole idea came from the One Red Paperclip guy who traded a single red paperclip for a house a few years back.  You can read all about it if you go to

I started my project, as you may have guessed, with a vintage Monopoly car from and old, incomplete set that had belonged to my grandmother.

View the whole list of items I've traded and what I traded for here.

I started this project on November 8, 2010.  Vintage Monopoly was born on that day.

Read my inaugural posting about what is going on here.

The current item up for trade is a snowboard with bindings.  The original MSRP for the set is over $400.

As I have stated in the past, it is not necessarily the value of the item that is important to me when I make a trade.  I am looking to trade the Snowboard & Bindings for something bigger and better than it to keep the trades going, taking steps toward my final goal: a free-and-clear property such as a house or commercial real estate.  The red paperclip guy did it.  Why can't I?

Do you want to trade for the Snowboard & Bindings?  If you have interest in making a trade, give me a call, text, or email and we can discuss it!

The only thing that I ask is that I be able to document the trade here on this site.
